Self Control, was increased with a little exercise!

Studies demonstrated that a brisk 15 minute walk could reduce chocolate and cigarette cravings. It seems the brain reward system, the part of the brain responsible for cravings, reacted less to tempting images after some  exercise.

“A single session of exercise can reduce the attention-grabbing power of temptations”, said lead author, Kate Janse Van Rensburg.

And regular exercise may not off-set the effect!

A four year study appearing in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology followed more than 4500 participants tracking their “screen time”.

Scientists determined that those who spent 4 or more hours being entertained by a TV or computer were 48% more likely to die from any cause. And were 125% more likely to experience a coronary problem.

Taking part in regular physical activity did not seem to help.

“Recreational sitting, as reflected by television/screen viewing time, is related to raised mortality and cardiovascular disease risk, regardless of activity participation”.
